Group Therapy for Children and Adults
Affected by Life-Challenging Illness, Loss or Grief

Introduction

  • Our Group Coordinator will assess if a group is the most appropriate therapeutic service or make other recommendations.
  • Therapy Groups are held either at the Wendt Center for Loss and Healing's main office at 4201 Connecticut Ave NW Suite 300, Washington, DC 20008 or at our satellite office at 2041 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE, Suite 236, Washington, DC 20020.
  • Therapy Groups are professionally-led and our fees for group therapy servies is $75.00 per session. However, we accept insurance and offer a sliding scale (based on household income) to ensure our services are accessible by anyone in need.
  • Advance registration and interviews are required for all groups.
  • All inquiries are confidential.
Our group therapy provides a place for people to express the many emotions associated with grief in a safe, supportive and confidential environment. Each individual has a unique experience of grieving and is encouraged both to share his or her views and to honor the views of others. Licensed professionals facilitate our groups for individuals and families dealing with these issues. Facilitators use talk and art amongst other modes of intervention based on the ages and dynamics of the group.

Our group therapy services are offered to educate and guide community members through the processes of loss and grief as they pertain to each individual.

If you, or someone you know, may be interested in a group, please contact the Center's main office at (202) 624-0010.

We are here to help you.
