The Wendt Center is a well-respected training site for graduate level students from accredited university programs studying to become psychotherapists in the grief and trauma treatment field. Interns are selected during a competitive application process and participate in an intensive training program. Our highly trained interns work with children and adults under the close supervision of licensed, senior therapists to ensure the best provision of treatment to those impacted by trauma and grief.
Our internship program ensures that clients receive compassionate, evidence-based care. All sessions are overseen by licensed and experienced clinicians to ensure the highest standard of care. Interns are able to meet with clients who qualify for our Office of Victim Services grant as well as provide therapy services at a reduced rate to make treatment accessible and affordable at $40 per session. And while our usual waiting time for services can range from 4-8 months, your agreement to work with an intern will provide you with faster access to begin treatment services.
If you are interested in working with an intern and beginning therapy quickly, please contact our intake line at 202-204-5021 and inform us of your preference.
