The Wendt Center for Loss and Healing is pleased to announce that Maggie Koziol has become its new Executive Director, effective today. After a comprehensive national search, Maggie’s dedication to the social sector and her proven commitment to problem-solving in complex, mission-driven settings distinguished her as the ideal leader for this role.
Maggie joins the Wendt Center with extensive experience in advancing impactful strategies within the social sector, particularly in organizational growth, team leadership, and sustainable operations. Her focus on creating solutions that bridge resources and support structures has consistently empowered her teams to achieve meaningful outcomes in diverse environments. With a wealth of expertise honed through her roles in both public and private sectors, Maggie is recognized for her ability to build resilient teams and drive systemic improvements to enhance community support services.

Previously, Maggie held senior leadership roles at Deloitte and at Alvarez & Marsal, where she was instrumental in developing and leading programs aimed at workforce development, education, and social impact. These roles were marked by a clear commitment to fostering growth, in inclusive ways and addressing critical needs across the social sector. Additionally, Maggie’s extensive background in international development includes senior roles with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), The World Bank, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) where she worked on initiatives to improve lives in vulnerable communities across the globe.
Beyond her professional commitment, Maggie is deeply connected to her community in Washington, DC, where she lives with her husband and two children. She values the importance of resilience and support in her community and is eager to foster these values as Executive Director. “I am honored to join the Wendt Center and work alongside its talented, committed staff to further its mission of helping individuals and families rebuild their lives after loss and trauma,” said Maggie.
