Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC
Our most significant need for volunteers is during each summer, when we offer grief camps for children and teens mourning the death of a significant figure in their lives. there are a few different ways volunteers help:
- Serve as a “Buddy” to a camper
- Work as a group assistant or a respite buddy
- Prepare materials for camp
- Set up and/or break down camp materials before and after sessions
- Raising funds to allow campers to attend completely free of charge
Please note that for all volunteer opportunities involving children or clients, we require a recent background check on file. As a non-profit, we try to use our funds in the best way possible to meet our client needs, so we ask that volunteers pay $45 for their background check, or provide proof of a recent background check that meets Wendt Center standards.
