About Camp

We at Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC strive for a camp environment that cultivates kindness, compassion, respect and inclusivity in an intentional and affirming way.  Our camp is committed to fostering grief exploration, social skills, courage, and understanding in a healing and supportive space.  We invite our camp community to preserve a safe and supportive environment that treats all people with dignity and thoughtful regard.

All camps will be held at: Farren’s Stable (218 D Street SE, WDC, 20003)

Camper Criteria
  • Must be between 6-17 years old
  • Must have experienced the death of a significant person in their life
  • To support readiness for the camp experience, we recommend that the death(s) occurred before April 1, 2026
  • Must live in the metro Washington, DC area
  • Must be willing to participate in a virtual interview/assessment
  • Must be willing to attend the full day of camp (9:00am – 6:30pm)
  • Must be willing to follow camp Health Policies and procedures (including screening and healthy practices) to maintain the well-being of the camp community

Is camp for all types of grief?

We recognize and understand that young people experience many different grief and loss situations in their lives (divorce, incarceration, separation from family members, illness, death of a pet). Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC is intended specifically to help children grieving the death of a significant person in their life.

Application Instructions
  • Please complete one application for each child in a family that would like to participate.
  • If you have any questions, please email camp@wendtcenter.org.
  • The form must be completed in one session, and required fields are indicated.
  • All consents and releases must be signed by a legal guardian.
  • If you are missing fields, they will show in red and you cannot go to the next page without completing.
  • At the bottom of each page of the application, click “Next”. When you reach the end, click “Submit”. You will receive an email confirmation once you submit your completed application.

All applicants must attend a scheduled virtual interview to assess readiness and appropriateness for this type of therapeutic camp.
