Over the past year, we have provided 138 crisis recovery support sessions in schools, workplaces, and community organizations. Some followed the loss of beloved staff or community members, whether due to illness or sudden death, including suicide. Others came in the wake of violence or other traumatic events.
What we are seeing is not only more loss, but communities struggling to carry it. Many communities are already carrying stress, uncertainty, and cumulative grief. When another loss occurs, the impact is deeper and more destabilizing.
And we show up.
We are launching a new campaign to strengthen our ability to meet this moment. The Community Support Fund will expand our capacity to provide timely crisis recovery support and grief- and trauma-focused care to schools and organizations facing a sudden loss or traumatic event.
While some of these crisis situations have designated funding streams, many do not. Yet the need for support is just as urgent.
This campaign will help ensure that Wendt Center’s long-standing crisis recovery services can be sustained and expanded as demand grows. It creates a safety net of care, allowing us to provide support when communities do not have the ability to fully fund services on their own, while continuing to partner with organizations that are able to contribute.
Your contribution will help us:
- Deploy trained clinicians when communities request support.
- Provide immediate stabilization and recovery support after sudden loss.
- Offer consultation and guidance to school and organizational leaders.
- Sustain the compassionate presence that defines our work.
No one should have to grieve alone.
We invite you to help strengthen this safety net of care across our community
