Dr. Lisa Purdy, New Executive Director

The Wendt Center is proud to announce that after a national search, Dr. Lisa Purdy will become the new Executive Director effective Monday, March 30, 2026.

Lisa brings tremendous experience, expertise, and empathy to the role.  A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Christ House, a Washington, DC based medical respite program serving individuals experiencing homelessness.  Prior to her time at Christ House, she spent nearly ten years at Maryhurst in Louisville, KY, most recently as their Chief Operating Officer where she led strategic and operational leadership for more than 300 staff delivering clinical and residential services, innovative group programming, and vibrant community partnerships serving individuals and families across the state of Kentucky.

Lisa holds a Master of Social Work with a focus on mental health and a PhD focused on workforce development, and has presented nationally on topics related to trauma-informed care and strengthening the behavioral health workforce.  She brings deep expertise in health equity and trauma informed care and a profound respect and appreciation for the Wendt Center mission, values, staff, and community.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lisa to the Wendt Center; her warmth, humor, and humility were evident throughout the search process, and we know she will be a phenomenal leader and partner for our staff, clients, and community” said Katharine Manning, President of the Board of Directors.
